South Head Anglican Parish combines St. Michael’s, Vaucluse and St. Peter’s, Watsons Bay. We gather for worship and fellowship at both locations.

Our management and service team is a group of paid staff and volunteers who are serving our congregation and community through the expression of Christ’s service and love.
Rev. Matt Aroney
RECTOR
Matt and his wife Kass have three children and a wealth of experience in pastoral ministry in Sydney. They bring a unique sense of warmth, wisdom and care to the team.
Jamie Irwin
ASSISTANT MINISTER
Jamie enjoys connecting with people of all ages and serving the local community. She and her husband Riley love living in the Eastern Suburbs.
Tim Edwards
ASSISTANT MINISTER
Tim and his family love being part of a church that’s so involved in its local area. Tim cares about people – hearing their story and helping them grow.
Rev. Jeff Ware
ASSISTANT MINISTER
Jeff Ware joined us after a long stint as Senior Chaplain at Barker College. He and his wife Annette are grandparents with five adult children.
Tobias Buckley
STUDENT CHILDREN’S MINISTER
Tobias is currently studying at Youthworks College. His training involves leading the children’s ministry at SHAP. He has a versatile passion for young people and serving in church.
Meg Weston
Little Sheep
Meg is our wonderful children’s ministry extraordinaire. Her commitment to sharing Jesus demonstrates her skilled aptitude and passionate heart for the littlies.
Elaine Kaye
CHURCH OFFICE
Elaine comes from an administrative background at Kambala Girls School. She is based at St Michael’s and can assist you with all enquiries regarding the Church’s services and activities.
Liti Seroa
CHURCH OFFICE
Liti is a scripture teacher at a local school. She is based at St Peter’s and is available to assist you with all enquiries on the Church’s services and activities.
Rod Thearle
COMMUNICATIONS
Rod is passionate about being engaging and creative in our communication and design. He oversees our Parish’s Community News, social media, website and printed materials.
Meg Matthews
COMMUNITY CHAPLAIN
Meg’s chaplaincy work focuses on aged care communities in our parish. She is a retired teacher and empty nester with a Diploma in Christian Studies from Mary Andrews College.
Irene Jackson
PASTORAL CARE
Irene loves to listen, care, pray, celebrate, comfort, help and encourage. She coordinates the many ways that we walk alongside one another and those in need in our local area.
Eddie Bosch
PROPERTY
Eddie is a retired local police inspector who ensures that the parish properties are safe, fit for purpose and locked up after use. Nothing escapes his vigilant eyes!
Jassen Rose
RECITALIST
Jassen is a skilled and talented musician and our church’s recitalist. He performs at our monthly Organ Recital at St Peter’s as well as other events in our yearly calendar.
Kristie Van Der Struik
ORGANIST
Kristie is our accomplished organist; she has held this position at several other churches. She is married to Greg, the principal trombonist for the Australian Opera. They sound great!
Our History
In 2019 St Michael’s Vaucluse and St Peter’s Watsons Bay combined to form the South Head Anglican Parish under the leadership of Bishop Stuart Robinson. For more information on the history of our Parish please click here.
