1. Bring along tinned fish (tuna/salmon), jars of instant coffee and packets of T-bags to church or contact Verity to arrange collection. Let’s fill those baskets in church!

2.Become a Disaster Recovery Church Volunteer. Find out more here. https://www.anglicare.org.au/get-involved/volunteer-with-us/disaster-recovery-volunteers

3. Donate to the flood appeal here https://go.anglicare.org.au/donate

4. Pray! This prayer may help.

God of compassion and provider of all comfort, we pray for the people and communities whose lives have been devastated and impacted by the recent rain and floods.

Please protect, strengthen and bring them comfort, we pray. We pray for the provision of places of safety, warmth, and care. We pray especially for the people, families, and communities that have lost loved ones, homes, livestock, properties, and livelihoods. May good communication flow to bring them much needed assistance and support. May those who have been isolated and separated by flood waters be connected and united with their family members.

We pray for the emergency personnel responding to this flood crisis. For networking and partnerships between agencies and response & recovery responders. We pray for the safety of the SES, community partners and all volunteers involved in rescue efforts and providing immediate needs, such as food, shelter, and material aid. Please sustain the agencies and volunteers serving the evacuees and affected communities as they meet physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs.

Thank you for our Anglicare Disaster Recovery Managers, teams, volunteers and churches who reach out to their communities with practical and meaningful care. We pray for the provision of long term needs to support those affected as they rebuild their lives.

May our response to support be generous and bring relief and care. Grant us your peace, sustaining hope, and comfort in this time of need.

Hear our prayers,

in the name of Jesus,
Amen
