On Sunday afternoon, our very own Jassen Rose skilfully presented a series of beautiful pieces by Bach and othersat St Peter’s church, Watsons Bay. The afternoon was called ‘Bach and Friends by the Bay’. 64 people attended! It was a full house for St. Peter’s. The afternoon was joyfuland friendly and the music expressive and emotive.

The feedback from those who attended is overwhelmingly positive. One of our guests, Tobias Buckley, said ‘I had never been to an organ recital. It was an interesting experience. It was very special to hear Jassen play the organ because I had never heard him play before.’

Litiana Seroa said ‘I know Jassen has been practising for so many weeks. It all came together and I could just tell how passionate and enthusiastic he was. You could feel it in the room.’

Jassen, a true virtuoso, was able to share the emotions of the music and the intentions behind the original composers. The afternoon was a celebration of faith, music and art. What a wonderful creator God we have who gives us the pleasures of enjoying music to our ears.

Our rector, Stuart, who was narrating the afternoon, told attendees that proceeds from the performance would assist in the purchase of a recital piano (pre-loved) for St. Peter’s.
