Reflection by Tobias Buckley

Compass Youth has just split up for the rest of the year, it’s been a blessing to have young people from our community join us to chat, have fun, play games, eat, and most importantly discuss Jesus.

Thank you to our entire SHAP community, for your support, prayers, words of encouragement and wisdom, it’s a joy to know how much the youth in our community are loved and cherished by not only our Lord, Jesus Christ, but also his People and Church.

A special thanks from me to Esther, Tanya, Verity and Litiana for their support, it involved a lot of planning, dedication, and work, and truly we couldn’t have done it without them.

Looking forward to the year to come, we are planning on putting Compass Youth on hold, whilst we look to begin an all-ages contemporary service on Sunday evenings. This allows us to welcome a wider range of people to SHAP and to be able to worship together in a different style.

Our hope is that this service will continue to provide for the Youth in our community, but will also welcome their families, young adults, university students and those a little younger at heart.  Our hope is that this can become a foundation and community of which young people can serve and be served within our church community.

We are still trying to work out the specifics but are aiming for a start towards the start of April.

Please be in prayer for the team as we look to start this, that the lord would give us energy and wisdom to do his will. Please also pray for the young people in our community, that this might be the way they know our Saviour Jesus.
