Hello South Head Anglican Parish.

We write this short update amidst the uncertainty of this new Sydney lockdown. While this causes extra stress and may delay our return to Timor-Leste, we have much to be thankful for. We welcomed little Emma Claire Southcott into our family a few weeks ago and give thanks for good health for both her and Anna. William, Lily and Toby have loved getting to cuddle their new baby sister and we have enjoyed some special family time despite the restrictions.

Tim has continued to work remotely managing his office roles and writing a new operations manual and training course. He now needs to study and prepare to fly again after 6 months out of the cockpit and almost a year since flying in Timor. Thankfully, relief pilots were able to get into the country a few months ago enabling MAF to keep serving the people of Timor-Leste- bringing help, hope and healing to those who need it.

The country continues to struggle with covid and has recently been hit by severe flooding displacing thousands and killing more than 40 people. Lockdowns from the beginning of the year have only just been lifted though the borders remain shut. We hope to return soon after lockdowns have ended in Sydney, but we cannot make solid plans during this dynamic and challenging time. We make our plans, but the Lord directs our path.

We continue to appreciate your prayers over our family during this time and as we return to serve with MAF and thank you for your partnership with us in this ministry.
