Parish Council met over zoom on the evening of 29th June, here is a summary of the discussions.

Stuart opened with a reading from Colossians which will be the theme for our sermons over the next few weeks. He then reported on activities in the last month, including the response to the Jonah bible study, the patronal service at St Peter’s and the sell out concerts also at St Peter’s.

Wardens reported on the progress of recruitment roles. We have two excellent candidates for the communications role, and the wardens expect to make an appointment this week. Recruitment for the families ministry role has not been successful and we are re-looking at the specifications of the role.

Following significant consultation we are close to a plan for a new kitchenette in St Michael’s Genevieve and her team have been working with contractors. The cost will be above budget, Richie proposed that we should look at fundraising opportunities around this particular project.

The Auld Committee into the master planning has been looking at our options around maintenance and improvements to the St Michael’s property. There are a lot of factors to consider, we look forward to Mark’s team coming back with an interim report next parish council.

The wardens presented their report. On matters finance, the we have a surplus for the year to date, and we are looking at how we can use this to fund additional ministry.

We have been approached by a film company to make a movie at our churches, we look forward to working with them and seeing the outcome of the use of our premises. Significant work has been done by the wardens to ensure that we are contractually covered and risks of damage to the property are managed.

The meeting closed with prayers for God’s guidance and the grace.
