Parish Council 21 July

  • 22 July 2021
  • Stuart Robinson

The meeting, opened in prayer and with a reading from Colossians.

Work has continued on the Cranbrook license. A new valuation has been obtained in collaboration with the Anglican Church Property Trust. This will result in an increase in rental to Cranbrook. One of the options to consider for the future is to look at other options for the property including long day care. A working group will be appointed to discuss alternatives.

In his Rectors report Stuart reported on the resignation of Heather MacCulloch as Treasurer and passed the following resolution.

South Head Anglican Parish Council formally expresses its gratitude and indebtedness to Mrs Heather Macculloch for her service as hon. Treasurer. Heather’s skill, wisdom, and commitment to advancing Christ’s mission have enabled us to review and renew processes and systems such that we might exercise responsible gospel-centred stewardship. Heather’s devotion to the task has been exemplary and we pray God’s every blessing on her future endeavours with her family and her businesses.

Stuart also outlined the new role of Irene Jackson to co-ordinate pastoral care activities across the Parish.

There is progress on the new bathroom at St Michael’s. A quote has been received from a highly recommended builder which is within our budget. We are excited to report that we will be going ahead on this project.

The Treasurers report highlighted on the work that is being done in collaboration with the Anglican Church Property Trust to set up an approach to setting aside funds for future columbarium maintenance. A summary set of accounts for the first half year will be published next week.
