A 5-week Study in the Psalms.

Ever wondered how to read the Psalms and what to make of the largest book in the bible? Though we may know some psalms very well, many passages are confusing or challenging to make sense of. Ought we pray the psalms and how do we use them as part of our individual and corporate worship?

In August and September, we will explore the Psalms on Sundays. In addition, Matt will be running a 5-week study on the Psalms on Thursday nights, which will allow time to cover more Psalms and ask some of the more complex questions about how to read them and why they matter. Along the way, we will look at some of the great writers of the psalms: Augustine, Martin Luther, Walter Brueggemann and Dietrich Bonhoeffer.
August 7 – Psalm 104 and Psalms of Creation.
August 14 – Psalm 22 and Lament Psalms.
August 28- Psalm 63 and Psalms of Longing.
September 4 – Psalm 110 and Jesus in the Psalms.
September 11 – Psalm 145 and Psalms of Praise.
The studies will be on Thursday nights at 7:30pm at the St Peter’s rectory.
