We need Community Connectors at Community Lunch! Could that be you?

A request from Meg Matthews, SHAP Aged Care Community Chaplain

The first Wednesday of the month is SHAP Community Lunch at St Peters hall, from 11:30-1:30.

About 50-60 people from our wider community come along to enjoy, friendship, food and fun entertainment. Some people come alone, others come from our aged care homes, others come with a friend. Everyone loves to meet new people and have someone to enjoy a chat with. We need volunteers to be Community Connectors. The role simply involves coming, and being intentional in sitting with people (perhaps move around a bit to get to know more than one person) and having a chat.

This is a special volunteer role for people who feel they are willing and able to simply be with and chat with people. This is such an important role, as we want everyone there to feel welcome, included and heard. Every person has a story. Every person loves to feel valued.

Please would you contact Doreen (doreen.laforest@southheadanglican.org) or Meg (meglizmatthews@gmail.com) if you are willing to give this a go. Our next lunch is on 5th June. We’d love to see you there!

Here are a few photos from our most recent lunch, as well as a photo of some of our Moran friends at our Tuesday 2pm service last week.
