With violence against women so much in the news, it is hard to know how best to help. Banksia Women, which is run by St John’s Community Services in Darlinghurst, is holding a morning tea on Saturday June 1st at 10am. Why not come along and find out about the work they do with women and families who have escaped domestic violence.

Banksia Women offer a range of practical services to women who have experienced domestic violence, helping them on their journey towards healing and recovery.

These services include appointments with a female lawyer, connections with other programs that women might need to access, plus activities such as meditation, art, yoga and most importantly a safe and supportive place that women who have had similar experiences can gather together and talk, reflect and heal. In the future they are planning courses on parenting and finances. Why not come along and find out more. Or click here to make a donation to their work here.
