Iszy’s Short Mission Trip to Southeast Asia (December)

Back in July, I had connected with two women from the markets named Annia* and Layah* (names changed for protection). Without having had saved their numbers, I was wandering through a poorer part of town and was able to reconnect with them out of nowhere, and was invited into their homes. God really ordained this meeting. This was a major answer to prayer, as I anticipated my ministry office in the long term would be connecting with women like these at the markets, to eventually be invited into their homes to share the gospel. Over a cup of tea in their home, I was able to have the opportunity to share a little bit of my faith, why Jesus is important to me and why praying to God is crucial for depending on Him as our Father. Colossians 4:3 says ‘And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ…’ I am so thankful that God was able to open the door to their homes for me to be invited into, and for God’s Word, His message to start being planted. These women come from a people group in town who are highly ostracised from society. They live much poorer lives and are considered a different class in the community. They are forgotten by many in society, but they are not forgotten by God. What an honour for me, being southeast Asian, was able to connect with these southeast Asian ladies in their heart language and mother tongue, to start friendships that will eventually be a way of God opening the door for his message to enter into their hearts.
