Little Sheep – Tales from the Team

This term at Little Sheep Church, we’ve been exploring the miracles of Jesus and each week we’ve had over 40 people hearing the Gospel. Amongst the organised chaos of toys, coffee and chats: men, women and children are coming to know Jesus Christ as their saviour.

Little Sheep Church is a place where people of all different ages, places and stages come, are welcomed, loved and able to hear the truths of the bible and the love of God for all. This term we’ve had many new faces come to join us, finding a place they can continue their exploration and walk with Jesus Christ. We’ve also seen the developing faith of young ones, and not so young ones as they continue know Christ, grow in worship, service and love and go into their weeks and worlds sharing the Gospel.

I would like to thank Nicky Hay, Meg Weston and our amazing volunteers in their tireless work. The love and care of Meg Weston for our Little Sheep Playtime families on a Thursday and Friday,  for Nicky Hay, teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ each week with care, love and patience at Little Sheep Church, and for all our other volunteers, for their amazing work at Little Sheep Playtime during the week and for everyone helps and contributes to make Little Sheep Church an amazing place to be.

From teaching the calming of the storm to the healing of the man with leprosy, we’ve learnt that Jesus is God, that he cares for us and is our friend. It’s been a blessing to be reminded of these simple truths.

Recently, In teaching these miracles and seeing the joy and amazement of little ones first hearing these stories I was reminded of Mark 10:14-15,

Jesus said “Let the children come to me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God. Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.”

To be taught by our youngest brothers and sisters in this way is one of my greatest blessings, joys and privileges.

I hope you might take some time out of your weeks to pray for Little Sheep Church, that through it, Christ’s church might grow, our littlest sheep might know Jesus as their saviour, and these families would know the love of God.
