This term we started from Abraham & Sarah and finished off this week with Joseph revealing himself to his brothers in Egypt. The kids are so familiar with this lesson that most of them could repeat back the story to me in just a few minutes, especially when Esau gave his birthright for a bowl of stew. Our memory verse, I am the Lord your God, and I will be there to help you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9

This semester has gone by pretty quick with kids taking their finished workbook home filled with crossword puzzles, colour-ins and finding the missing pictures. The upper class mostly have play out scenes/drama that they enjoy. One student asks, wait is this the same play that I saw with my grandparents some time ago with Joseph and his colorful coat. You mean it’s from the bible? Another lesson, one commented, why are we always talking about Abraham and his family, surely there are other people we can talk about? Another, why can’t Isaac just take back the blessing he gave Jacob and give it to Esau? These and many other comments motivates me to keep pointing the story back to Jesus our Saviour. Couldn’t have done this without your prayers and kind words of support. Thank you to Rev Dan and Nerita our helpers this year as we take a break for the next two weeks. Next term we will continue with the Israelites in Egypt and out.
