Tales from the Team

My tale is about welcoming people to SHAP

In the last 18 months you may have often said “Who would have thought….” about the strange life we have been leading through the pandemic.  And that applies to our church life doesn’t it – who would have thought we would be enjoying close fellowship, learning, praying and worship through a screen!  But that’s how it has been, and it is wonderful that in this latest lockdown we have welcomed new people to our church who have never actually worshipped with us physically.  They have joined us since our zoom church started, and are now a part of our community, thanks in large part to the welcome they have received from all of you.  We now have people joining us from Western NSW, Queensland, and over the road from St. Peter’s and St. Michael’s!  Do keep looking out for new faces in the ‘coffee chat rooms’ after the 10am service.

And now that we are looking ahead to physical church restarting before the end of the year, as well as zoom church continuing, it will be more exciting than ever to be part of that SHAP welcoming spirit.  If you have enjoyed talking to new people about SHAP recently, and if you would like our church to keep growing, do please become part of the Welcome Team which will be gearing up for the next phase of our church life.  We shall be getting together as a team before long to start planning this essential ministry, and SHAP needs you!  Please contact me if you’d like to know more about how to become involved.  Thanks.  Alison.
