Aged Care

Online Tuesday at Two is now finished. The past two Tuesdays have seen a quiet excitement in the Orangerie on the top level at Mark Moran Village, Vaucluse, as residents have returned for the weekly live SHAP service. Today was my first day back and I loved seeing the regulars return, eager and ready to gather as church in worship and praise. I was specially heartened to see some folk, who have been irregular or reluctant participants in months gone by, return with a sense of gratitude for connections maintained through card writing care shown over the past somewhat lonely months. It reminds me that we should never underestimate the power of simple acts of care…. a card, a note, a phone call, all show that person that they matter, they are remembered, both to us and to the God who loves them.
It’s so nice to see our live SHAP aged care ministry starting back up. We’d love you to uphold this ministry in prayer as we seek to really connect to and minister to our friends in their senior years. We will miss Dan McKinlay who is such an aged care natural! Thanks Dan – it’s been great doing ministry with you!
