Pastoral Care
At the beginning of July, I had my phone and laptop hacked at the same time. The experience was awful, the hackers managed to freeze my laptop rendering me unable to do anything. Thankfully, the bank texted me at the same time asking if I authorised the transaction. As soon as I texted back NO my account was frozen. The attack was very personal and left me with my emotions shot. I needed help with my phone and laptop and on speaking to Alison, Andrew contacted me within minutes and offered to help with my laptop, which he did. Tobias also helped me. Their kindness and willingness to be available has been such an excellent example of our Lord’s love for us.

Often when we think about pastoral care we mainly think of illness, bereavement, or loneliness, however, financial crises whether short or long term happens and as with other pastoral care needs such as individual needs, practical and emotional support.

I am grateful for the practical help I received and for the on-going emotional support given. How wonderful to know that we are available to pray, give comfort and support to each other. This is what the Lord calls one-anothering. “Care for one another” (1 Cor 12:25) “Serve one another” (Gal 5:13) “Bear one another’s burdens (Gal 6:2).
