Tales from the Team

My tale comes from our aged care ministry.
Early this year, Rev Dan McKinlay and I restarted a regular service at Mark Moran Village in Vaucluse.  We have seen a growing group of residents, both from independent living and aged care, join our Tuesday afternoon gatherings in the sunny upstairs Orangerie.

It’s been lovely getting to know the 35 or so people who have come. This includes people for whom church had been a distant memory, perhaps from Sunday School days, and who may be reconnecting with a dormant faith.

Others have been long term faithful members of our Parish who have a heart to grow in, and share, the love of Christ with fellow residents.

The community and connection factor can’t be underestimated. We are indeed a small church in our own right, part of the wider SHAP community, as we gather in Jesus’ name.

Dan and I have felt so welcome. It has been an enjoyable privilege to be part of this vibrant community of faith. We invite you to pray with us for aged care ministry in our parish, and in particular today for our friends at Moran Village.
