Thanks for Supporting the Ride for Cancer.

Many would know that I (Tanya) and Eddie Bosch rode our bikes from our home in Bondi to the centre of Melbourne. It took us just over 3 weeks with 19 riding days and 5 rest days. We were doing it to remember that it was 30 years since our younger son Matthew died of cancer. A sculpture of a cat sits in the garden in memory of him. Since we returned home, it has been a horror 6 weeks of a tooth removal, my dad’s death, and having to undergo a lumpectomy for breast cancer 2 days later.

Despite all that, we want to celebrate the ride, especially the support and prayers from those at SHAP. I certainly learnt to take one day at a time. When I got very tired, I had the best dinner we had on the trip, cooked by a Nepali in the King Valley. The next day, I faced the hardest obstacle. Getting out of the valley by an incredibly steep fire trail which took 4 hours to do 3K because we literally dragged the bikes up the hill. God still gave me that strength, and after that, the days seemed easy! We also appreciate the contributions made to the Children’s Cancer Institute through the Matthew Bosch Ride for Cancer Link: https://www.ccia.org.au/fundraisers/tanyabosch
We are only $200 short of $15,000! If anyone is still willing to give, we would appreciate it. Thank you for such a caring community.
