Peter Croft

I grew up on a sheep, wheat and cattle farm in the Mudgee Gulgong area in Central West New South Wales.

As a child I dreamed of being … either an architect or a schoolteacher however, I commenced working in banking, studied part time resulting in a degree in Business Studies majoring in Accounting and Finance and ended up having a number of roles in that field.

On family holidays …  we didn’t always get away due to the requirements of running the farm however, we tended to go to the beach including wonderful times at Coffs Harbour, Manly and Tamarama. Tamarama was particularly memorable in that my Mum ended up in hospital, my six-year-old sister got lost on Bondi Beach and I had to be rescued by the lifeguards at Tamarama Beach!

The best decision I ever made … was to study part time and complete a degree.

As a family … (I am one of five) we always went to church however, I think I really came to faith after completing Christianity Explained with Tanya Bosch.

I first came to SHAP … approximately 30 years ago when St Paul’s Rose Bay amalgamated with St Michaels Vaucluse.

I wish I had learnt earlier … to feel the fear and do it anyway!

In my spare time … I like to go ocean swimming, lots of walks, eclectic reading and fiddling around in the garden. And In good times I enjoy travel both in Australia and overseas.
