Bread of Life Ministry at Vine Church Surry Hills

St Michael’s has been part of the Bread of Life Ministry at Surry Hills for over 14 years.  Breakfast is served every Sunday at 7am to prepare breakfast for marginalised people in the community.  On the second Sunday of each month 6 or 7 St Michaels volunteers serve. Fresh fruit salad, cereal, bacon, eggs, toast, coffee and tea are served from 8am.  The team then cleans up and is finished in time to be back at St Michael’s for the 10am church service.  Over the last two years during major renovations at Vine Church we have been preparing and serving breakfast outside the church, in fact for the last couple of months we have been on the footpath with no access to power or water – a challenging time!

What would this mean for a volunteer?  We work on a three-month roster so it would mean one or two Sundays every three months.  You would be asked to bring fresh fruit for the breakfast. We would love to see more volunteers join our group. Please contact Wendy Jarratt – wendy.jarratt@gmail.com if you’re interested in joining our team or go to https://vinechurch.com.au/blog/post/bread-of-life/ for more information about Bread of Life.
