A happy Welcome for our newcomers
A couple of weeks ago we were able to formally welcome a group of people who have joined the SHAP community in recent times.  Seven newcomers met together with a few oldcomers at the Glassons’ house for a delicious lunch, generously prepared by members of the Welcome Team. Another five were unable to join us on the day.
As a community it is important to mark beginnings and endings, and the happy time we had together enabled us to hear about each other’s backgrounds, faith journeys, and plans for the future.  Friendships are easily made at such times.  So if you meet someone you don’t know so well yet, and especially if they are new to the area or to SHAP, we encourage you to get together for a coffee or lunch – it’s just one way we shall grow as a church, and it’s fun!
Here’s what Paul says in the bible:  “Contribute to the needs of the Saints and seek to show hospitality” (Romans 12:13).
