Community Lunch
A wet day did not deter friends from near and far coming along to celebrate Christmas in July at last Tuesday’s Community Lunch at St Peters hall. Jane and Stuart decorated the hall with festive lights and decorations, set the tables beautifully and we had Christmas songs aplenty playing on the sound system. It was certainly beginning to feel a lot like Christmas! Over 60 friends arrived and we all enjoyed warm fellowship, hot soup and fresh delicious sandwiches, before the entertainment began, with a Christmas quiz and Christmas singalong. Mince pies, Christmas cake and hot drinks in the break preceded round two of the entertainment, and everyone joined in the singalong with Christmas cheer and gusto. We finished with a beautiful version of Silent Night and all left feeling happier for having spent a couple of hours celebrating friendship and community. We hope you will consider joining us next month, 3rd August, for Community Lunch, with a theme of “When we were very young.”
