Why I am doing Roughtober by Angali Wirasinha

When I see homeless people, I feel sad for their situation in life. I pray for them, knowing God loves them and will help them. I then think about the Bible passage in 1 John 3:17-18 which says, “If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.” which makes me want to do something to help them.

But I know that whatever I do to help them at that moment will not make a significant difference to their lives. By participating in Roughtober and supporting the work of Rough Edges I feel I can make a lasting, positive difference to the lives of homeless people.

All the money raised goes towards Rough Edges, who do an amazing job of valuing homeless & marginalised people by giving them a place to have a meal and find kindness, connection and support.
